Can Tho Province lies in the center of the Mekong Delta, 169 km (105 miles) away from HCM City. This area has been considered a “rice basket” of south-western Vietnam for a long time now. The typical feature of this western land lies in its canal system. This is an economic and cultural center with the harmonious cultural combination between the Viet, Khmer and Chinese.
Can Tho is famous for its ancient pagodas of Nam Nha, Hoi Linh and Ong. It is also well-known for Ninh Kieu Wharf that is located on the bank of Hau River and is the city’s main trading center where hundreds of boats plying the river, bringing products from the rest of the Delta region.
